Peter L. Villa Fine Art specializes in American and European paintings from the 18th through 20th centuries with an emphasis on Fine Sporting Art. The gallery is located in a private viewing space on East 57th Street and is open by appointment.

Peter L. Villa has been trading in fine art for over 30 years. In 1978, he joined Christie's, New York, serving as the Head of the 19th Century European Paintings Department (1981-1986) and founding the Sporting Art auction category in America. In 1987, he became a Director of The Artis Group Ltd. of New York & London, acting as a principal, broker and appraiser of fine art. A Private Dealer since 1998, Mr. Villa maintains a select gallery inventory and welcomes the opportunity to locate works of art worldwide on behalf of both the beginning and the experienced collector.

The gallery is always interested to purchase single works or entire collections. Paintings are also accepted on consignment. Appraisal services are available for insurance and estate valuations. In addition to Sporting Art, we are also delighted to advise clients on the purchase or sale of paintings across a broad spectrum of schools, periods and subjects. We represent collectors in the private sector, at public auction and at the international art fairs. All inquiries are pursued with discretion and transactions are conducted in a confidential manner.
